Kas & Ros

This class is designed to provide you with the essential groundwork needed for wax carving all whilst enjoying a cocktail and in a relaxed, creative environment.

Carving wax gives you endless options to freely design whatever ring you want, as you are not limited to a silver wire or strip. This technique allows you to create something 3D, abstract, classic, chunky, geometric or organic, so you can let your imagination run wild!
The workshop begins with a short introduction to the lost wax process and its uses. The Ringsmiths team will inform you about basic tips and tricks on how to design a comfortable ring. Showing you various techniques and tools that can be used.
You will then start by designing/sketching out your ring, (samples and images will be available for inspiration) before beginning to carve your wax.
Once you’re happy with your finished carving we will show you how to complete the ring and prepare it for casting. After the class your wax carved ring will be cast, finished and polished by The Ringsmiths using recycled silver. We will contact you once it’s ready for collection or we can post it out to you. 

If you wish to have your ring gold plated or have your wax cast in solid gold then this will be at an additional cost and can be paid for and decided on the day. 

Your finished silver ring will be ready for collection or posting within 3 weeks after the class.

Extra services such as engraving, gold plating and stone setting are offered at an additional cost. These can be requested at the end of the class. Please note each of these services have a lead time of 3 weeks on top of the casting/finishing time.

Fantastic class but as it takes 30mins to explain the process 1.5 hours isn’t enough so felt slightly rushed at the end. Would be perfect if it’s class was 2.5 hours or 3 hours max - this is the only reason I rated 4 stars and not 5

As a beginner to jewellery making, the classes are well structured, easy to follow and super fun! The girls are great teachers, and the rings that you get to make are amazing and look really professional. 
They give you different options within the class, so you can come out with the perfect piece that you want. 

It was great activity to do with friends or solo, and I felt really comfortable attending a class recently with the safety measures they have in place.

I thought this workshop was amazing!! Here are some of the reasons.
1: Even as a beginner I got the opportunity to make a full piece of jewellery that I love and will enjoy wearing, which feels like quite a big milestone for a first class. I had the freedom to make my own design but was also provided with inspo.
2: It was efficiently run so that everybody could get enough one on one guidance and mentoring from the jewellers on how to make their rings. They explained the steps really clearly and helpfully.
3: Its nice atmosphere made me relaxed and able to concentrate. The experience was complete with cocktails and Halloween snacks (very instagramable)
4: It was worth the price. I am really happy to have paid what I did for my experience and beautiful ring!

The studio space was very warm and welcoming. The two ring smiths were friendly and helpful. The demonstration at the beginning was clear and explained well with useful tips and ideas that made the process a lot more enjoyable. The 2 hours whizzed by but was just enough time to create your masterpiece. The experience overall was fun and allowed you to  delve into your artistic side.

I adored this workshop!! It’s in a lovely location, around 10 minutes or so walk from London Bridge. The shop itself is stunning with the most beautiful jewellery and the cutest workshop located at the back. It’s an incredible space, not to mention the staff are amazing. We had Roz lead our workshop, alongside two other wonderful and extremely helpful jewellers. They demo’d everything for us and were attentive and helpful while we got started. I kept thinking how amazing it was to learn so much in just under 2 hours. We also had a cheeky fruit punch while we worked away on our rings and there were sweet treats too. Everything you need (other than extras such as gems, engraving etc) is included and for the price, it’s well worth your money. Will 100% be returning, may even bring my sister along on her birthday as it’s a fab experience.
